Trick or treating is one of the greatest things a child could ever do and is a tradition they can do for many years to come. However, there is a controversy when it comes to the activity. Teenagers decide that its an easy way to get candy and take over the somewhat childish event. This can be aggravating towards some parents.
Most parents agree that younger children get priority and that the older kids should be kind towards the younger children. Many parents also agree that older kids should not wear scary costumes to scare the kids.
“When teenagers knock on my door, I get annoyed. Most of them are rude. Usually, they aren't even wearing a costume and are just asking for candy. One time one of the teenagers said give me candy lady and I just shut my door.” said CCA students mom
Trick or Treating doesn't have an age limit, but many children stop around when they get to high school as they realize staying home with a big bowl of candy is much better than trekking for miles.
